1928 Chrysler Crown sedan

The 1928 Chrysler Crown Sedan was a luxurious closed-body model offered near the top of Chrysler’s lineup during a time of rapid innovation and brand expansion. The Crown Sedan featured a traditional four-door, five-passenger configuration, providing enclosed seating for passengers. It reflected the brand’s growing focus on refinement, power, and comfort in the late 1920s.

The Crown Sedan was part of the Series 72, which was a significant advancement in the Chrysler lineup for 1928. The Series 72 utilized a new chassis with a longer wheelbase, which enhanced the car’s ride comfort and stability and introduced several design changes and engineering improvements, including a higher radiator, an oblong instrument panel with a gas gauge, and a thinner steering wheel. The 1928 Series 72 models, including the Crown Sedan, were powered by a new 3.8 L (248.9 cu in) six-cylinder engine that produced 75 horsepower matched to a 3-speed manual Transmission.
