BMW 1600 Touring / 1602 Touring
The BMW 1600-2 quickly became a bestseller, but he offered practicality and driving pleasure at an affordable price and in attractive packaging. In the spring of 1971, this series has been supplemented by the body variant of the “station wagon” under the name “Touring”. Presented were the types 1600, 2000 and 2000 tii touring. Two years later, the base model BMW 1600 Touring was set after only 4,379 copies.

BMW 1800 Touring / 1802 Touring
After five years of production of various models of the BMW 02 Series was released in 1971 with the type BMW 1802 a variant that was able to combine the approximate performance of the BMW 2002 with greater efficiency. This model with 90 hp short-stroke motor was available from autumn 1971 to April 1974 and in a Touring version with the type designation 1800 Touring or from model year 1973 BMW 1802 Touring.

As of April 1971, BMW launched on the basis of the BMW 02 Series, a new body concept under the sales name “Touring”. The so-called “station wagon” offered the leisure-oriented customers a sporty and spacious vehicle. In particular, the split folding rear bench seat made for great flexibility. As a successful touring model of BMW (from model year 1973, BMW 2002 Touring) was 2000 Touring.

As of April 1971, BMW launched on the basis of the BMW 02 Series BMW for a new body concept under the sales name “Touring”. The BMW 2000 tii Touring was the new top model in the Touring family and delighted his owners, in the same way as its sister model BMW 2002 tii, through impressive driving performance. For particularly sporty BMW customers offered the optional “Rallye” package with alloy wheels and Recaro sports seats at the front.
