Chrysler Concorde (1993-2004)

1993 Chrysler Concorde

Chrysler’s renaissance began in earnest with the mid-size Concorde sedan that debut in 1993, Chrysler once again explodes to the forefront of the automotive world by changing the essential architecture of the contemporary automobile.

The Chrysler Concorde was a full-size, front-wheel-drive sedan produced from 1993 to 2004, known for its cab-forward design, roomy interior, and aerodynamic styling. It was part of Chrysler’s LH platform, shared with the Dodge Intrepid, Eagle Vision, and later the Chrysler LHS and 300M.

Featured a “cab-forward” design, characterized by a long, low sloped windshield and wheels pushed to the corners, providing a larger passenger cabin compared to its contemporaries. This design philosophy was traced back to the 1987 Lamborghini Portofino concept car.

1st Generation (1993–1997)

Debuted in 1992 as a 1993 model. It was closely related to the Eagle Vision, sharing many body panels. Offered a choice of V6 engines (3.3L or 3.5L).

  • Sleek “cab-forward” design: long windshield, short overhangs
  • Engines: 3.3L and 3.5L V6
  • Trim levels: Base, LX, and LXi
  • Strong emphasis on aerodynamics and passenger space

2nd Generation (1998–2004)

Completely redesigned for the 1998 model year based on the LHX concept car. It featured new V6 engines (2.7L and 3.2L), with the 3.5L engine becoming available on the top-of-the-line Limited trim from 2002 to 2004.

  • More sculpted, aggressive design
  • Optional 3.5L High Output V6 with up to 250 hp
  • Upgraded trims and more upscale interior
  • LXi and Limited trims included leather, Infinity audio, alloy wheels

Discontinued after 2004, replaced indirectly by the rear-wheel-drive Chrysler 300 in 2005.
