The Renault Floride was designed by Pietro Frua, an Italian designer, and it featured a sleek and stylish body with a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout.
It was available as a coupe, convertible, and a 2+2 hardtop.

The Floride was aimed at buyers looking for a stylish and affordable convertible or coupe. It competed with other small convertibles of the era, such as the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. The car enjoyed popularity in export markets, particularly in the United States and Europe.
