BMW 329 Models (1936-1937)
In 1936 and 1937 BMW built the Type 329, which closely resembled the new 326 touring saloon/sedan and used technical features from the 319 model. Superseded in 1937 by the Type 320, the 329 was available in only two body styles, which resembled draft designs from Sindelfingen in their styling. The over-emphasised tail of the four-seater convertible was lacking in harmony. The factory delivered 42 of the two-seater convertible version, which was visually more successful.

BMW 335 Models (1939-1941)
BMW made the breakthrough into the luxury automobile class with the BMW 335. The first prototype was presented in 1938 and small-scale series production only began in 1939. The powerful 3.5 litre engine was mounted in a modified BMW 326 body with a longer front end. There were three series bodies: saloon, convertible with two and four doors, and 17 cars were supplied as chassis and bodied individually.

Special bodies: Sports convertible bodies based on the BMW 335 were built by Autenrieth and Graber. A streamlined test car designed by Professor Kamm was produced with the designation K 1 by the Vetter coachbuilding company. A similar vehicle called K4 was given a body by the Reutter company.
