BMW 318i convertible

The new BMW 3 Series (E36) had an unparalleled model diversity. After the debut of the 3 Series saloon in 1990 and the 3 Series coupé in 1991, a new convertible followed in 1993. The profile of the convertible and the coupé was dominated by the extended and flattened engine bonnet and created a very elegant and sporty effect. From 1994, a 4-cylinder model was supplied, the 318i convertible. It remained in the product range until 1999.

BMW 320i convertible

The new BMW 3 Series (E36) had an unparalleled model diversity. After the debut of the 3 Series saloon in 1990 and the 3 Series coupé in 1991, a new convertible followed in 1993. The profile of the convertible and the coupé was dominated by the extended and flattened engine bonnet and created a very elegant and sporty effect. Following shortly after the BMW 325i convertible, the small 6-cylinder model 320i convertible was now supplied with four-valve technology and 150hp. It was replaced by the 323i convertible in 1995.

BMW 323i convertible

The new BMW 3 Series (E36) had an unparalleled model diversity. After the debut of the 3 Series saloon in 1990 and the 3 Series coupé in 1991, a new convertible followed in 1993. The profile of the convertible and the coupé was dominated by the extended and flattened engine bonnet and created a very elegant and sporty effect. Like the other 3 Series models, the convertible was also given the new 6-cylinder inline engines with 2.5-litre or 2.8-litre displacement. The BMW 323i and 328i replaced the predecessor models 320i and 325i.

BMW 325i convertible

The new BMW 3 Series (E36) had an unparalleled model diversity. After the debut of the 3 Series saloon in 1990 and the 3 Series coupé in 1991, a new convertible followed in 1993. The profile of the convertible and the coupé was dominated by the extended and flattened engine bonnet and created a very elegant and sporty effect. The convertible was initially supplied as a 6-cylinder 325i with a revised inline engine and generating 192 hp. Although this model was only in the product range for two years, it moved forward to become the most successful convertible in the new BMW 3 Series after the 328i convertible.

The new 328i convertible advanced to become the top-selling convertible with nearly 50,000 units.

It brought with it the long-awaited link between the compact and the powerful 6-cylinder inline engine of the BMW 323i. BMW created the ‘perfect sports saloon’ with this vehicle.

The 4-cylinder diesel engine generated 90 hp and was fitted with a charge-air cooler.
